Each year the Townsville Branch travels to Cardwell for the Battle of the Coral Sea memorial service. We all enjoy this fantastic event where we get to meet up with long time friends as well as our fellow Cairns Branch members.
Below is the Battle of the Coral Sea memorial service dedication and blessing of plaques for the Catalina Aircraft that were lost with their crew photos 2017, in memory of 20 Squadron’s Air Crew of RAAF Catalina A 24-18 and A 24-20.
The plaques were unveiled by Mr Ted Mildren CSM RAAFA Queensland Division North Queensland Area Vice President and Mr David Goggin RAAFA Cairns Branch President. Dedication and Blessing by Chaplain (Squadron Leader) Wayne Melrose Royal Australian Air Force 27 Squadron Townsville.
